Assistant Controller

RESORT ASSISTANT CONTROLLER – FULL TIMEStarting salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually (dependent on experience)All employees receive a FREE POOL PASS and other on-property discounts.Full Time employees are eligible for additional benefits including; medical, dental, vision and life insurance.Primary FunctionThe primary function of the Assistant Controller is to perform corporate-wide functions of accounting and provide accurate and timely information for the profitable growth of the Resort. The Assistant Controller oversees day-to-day accounting operations and ensures financial records are accurate. They coordinate the financial close, help produce summary statements, internal controls and budgets.Reporting, Accountability and AuthorityThe Assistant Controller reports to, and is accountable to the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort’s Controller/Assistant CFO. They have the support and authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description and other responsibilities of the Accounting Department.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTimely financial reporting and analysisGeneral ledger management and account reconciliationsReview of accounts payable codingTax reporting and complianceCash management and funding coordinationAccounting team supervision and schedulingInternal controls and confidentiality managementCross-training and backup support for payroll, AP and cash operationsSupport annual budgeting and financial planning for all departmentsManage month-end and year-end closing processesPhysical RequirementsAbility to climb stairs and push, pull, lift and carry at least 30 pounds.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and read instructions.Excellent quantitative and analytic skills.Work Hours and DaysThe accountant’s work hours and days are generally fixed with flexibility required to accommodate closings, critical dates, and other responsibilities as part of the GHSR Accounting Department.Key QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (hospitality accounting preferred), orAssociate degree with significant hospitality accounting experience, required.4+ years of accounting/finance experience, required.2+ years of supervisory/management experience, required.Strong GAAP knowledgeLeadership, analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.Strong computer skills required, Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency with Business Central, preferred.Please note: This is not an exhaustive list of the job duties.
