PHYSICIAN STAFFING SPECIALIST

divh2Job Title/h2pDevelop and maintain monthly schedules with Medical Directors where available in managing the shift schedules to ensure coverage on a daily basis every day of the year. Responsible for sourcing, screening and placing 1099/PT physicians to supplement staffing needs of each Hospitalist program./ph3Essential Duties Responsibilities:/h3ulliGenerate schedules to guarantee physicians are assigned his/her minimum commitment of shifts per contract;/liliObtain availability from 1099 providers to supplement staffing needs of each program;/liliComplete, confirm and communicate all schedule shifts with physicians and mid-level providers;/liliManage and negotiate additional pay upon/and only with approval from VP of Physician Services and/or Director of Operations;/liliConfirm and distribute monthly schedules to physicians 6-12 months in advance;/liliDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with contracted physicians and mid-level providers;/liliCommunicate vital information obtained from physician contact to all team members including (operations, credentialing, recruiting and human resources)/liliWhen appropriate and approved in advance by the VP of Physician Services and/or Director of Operations identify qualified candidates through third party locum agencies;/liliAssist patient care liaisons and/or program coordinators to schedule provider orientation at each program;/liliParticipate in after-hours calls for scheduling emergencies;/liliTrack and report any additional exception pay per payroll period and report forward to VP of Physician Services one day prior to payroll deadline;/liliDocument all calls and communication in ACT database;/liliMaintain comprehensive and current knowledge regarding physician related information in ACT database;/liliConduct initial screening of all potential candidates;/liliAcquire information necessary for required background and reference checks for candidates prior to contract being extended;/liliEnsure shift rates for 1099 providers are within budgetary guidelines and are approved by management in advance if over budget;/liliRespond with follow up calls on any leads produced from the Lead Generators or from other recruiters within 2 days turnaround time;/liliCommunicate and create ECRF on all contractual requests for potential candidates;/liliEnsure all 1099 provider contracts and COI are obtained and executed prior to physician working on schedule;/liliAssist in all recruiting efforts for implementation or urgent needs as assigned;/liliAdhere to all policies and procedures of the staffing department./li/ulh3Education, Qualifications Experience:/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent (bachelors degree preferred);/liliA minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role;/liliExperience with scheduling applications and software;/liliExtensive experience with MS office software./li/ulh3Skills Characteristics:/h3ulliMotivated, self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision;/liliTeam player who embraces organizational change and a fast-paced environment;/liliProficient in multiple project management;/liliHighly organized, detail-driven and results oriented;/liliThrives on problem solving and possesses solid critical thinking and analytical skills;/liliProfessional verbal and written communication skills./li/ul/div
