About This Role

The New Grad RN Resident in the Cardiology Stepdown Unit at Cleveland Clinic provides patient‑first healthcare in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. This role is ideal for new graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience looking to develop their skills in a fast‑paced cardiac care setting.

• Department/Unit: Cardiology Stepdown Unit (J71)
• Schedule: Full‑time, Day shift

What You’ll Do

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when necessary.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing

Experience

• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Licenses & Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first year of hire
• Completion of an ONS Chemo/Bio Course within two years of hire (if applicable)
• Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within one year of hire (if applicable)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire (if applicable)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within one year of hire (if applicable)
