Job Overview Responsible for source selection and procurement of products and services, secured at competitive cost, quality, and delivery levels consistent with Company policy and performance standards. Responsibilities This role is primary responsible for strategic and tactical global sourcing ($10M+ spend), as well as managing the metal castings/forgings, machined components, and metal fabrication commoditiesResponsible for supporting and co-leading the procurement strategies for different commodities with the support of the supply chain materials managerResponsible for developing and maintaining supplier relationships and conduct annual supplier negotiations with top ten suppliersResponsible to ensure purchased materials are supplied in a proper time and that it will meet the delivery dates to minimize the risk of an inventory stock-out or revenue impactMonitor supplier performance to assure proper feedback and corrective actions are in place to improve quality and deliveryResponsible for monitoring inventory levels to ensure that adequate supplies of products are always availableAbility to manage multiple suppliers & commodities to ensure ongoing supply and appropriate pricing are metLead and coordinate procurement assignments for new product development and engineering changesManage capabilities of existing and future supply base to ensure they meet the needs of our businessResponsible to drive and execute supplier savings projects (external and internal)Implementation and continuous improvement of standardization activitiesSupport implementation of Global Commodity strategiesThis role might require working with different sites within Nikkiso to identify opportunities to standardize and improve supply chain strategies and promote best practices across the businessPerform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong background in procurement and supply chain strategiesSupply chain professional with 10+ years of experience in supply chain, production, and machine shopExtensive knowledge in supplier development strategies (globally and domestic is preferred)Extensive knowledge of material flow best practices in a production environment high mix and low volumeAbility to lead and facilitate supplier negotiations and contract agreementsExperience working with global procurement teamsStrong knowledge working with machining castings, forgings, and weldingStrong knowledge in Machining and Fabrication – Bronze alloy, aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steelStrong background in Operations/Supply Chain/Lean preferredExperience implementing ERP systems preferredHands-on experience with Problem Solving / Lean Manufacturing preferredProject Planning / Project Management preferredEDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related technical area or equivalent work experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain good supplier and vendor relationshipsExpertise in problem-solving working with internal and external teamsAbility to lead/co-lead projects in cross functional teams to drive strategic sourcing in a global environmentAble to travel domestically and internationally as neededProficient in MS Office, Excel with excellent communications skillsDemonstrates excellence in interpersonal skills - verbal and written communication, self-starter, positive make-it-happen attitude, team playerOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
