The Opportunity

Join a Technical Accounting / Accounting Policy team supporting a diverse financial services platform (wealth management, leasing, banking, mortgage).

This position is largely focused on projects (~80%) and concentrated on resolving real-time accounting inquiries from the business not just finalizing the books. Plenty of guidance will be provided.

Common scenario:

A business division introduces a new product or signs a contract ? accounting treatment is unclear ? you establish the appropriate GAAP treatment.

You will research, evaluate, and document conclusions that are trusted by senior management and leadership.

What You'll Do

• Investigate and resolve technical accounting issues (GAAP) across various business sectors
• Analyze contracts, new products, and transactions to ascertain correct accounting treatment
• Create technical accounting memos and documentation for leadership review
• Collaborate directly with senior management and business leaders to address accounting queries
• Assess and track new accounting standards (FASB, etc.) and determine implications
• Support ad hoc, high-impact accounting projects

What We're Looking For

• 23 years of public accounting experience (REQUIRED)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Solid background in audit
• CPA or CPA track preferred
• Familiarity with accounting standards (revenue, lease) during audit a bonus
