- Safely operate a bucket truck to access tree canopies and perform trimming, pruning, and removal work.
- Collaborate with the ground crew to assess work requirements and assist in determining the most efficient approach.
- Inspect and maintain the bucket truck and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Trim or remove tree limbs and branches, ensuring minimal impact to surrounding property and vegetation.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work activities and ensure safe execution of tasks.
- Safely lower or cut down limbs, branches, or entire trees using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Assist in the cleanup of the worksite, ensuring all debris is properly disposed of or recycled.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or other issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Previous experience operating a bucket truck or similar equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of tree care practices, including pruning, trimming, and safe removal techniques.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in demanding conditions.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds to shoulder height
- Flexibility, including the ability to squat and bend
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Ability to pull body weight up 20 feet and climb a tree
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and withstand extreme temperatures
- Must not exceed weight limitations for hydraulic buckets
