Country Cutz Grooming and Boarding, LLC is looking for an experienced, passionate, and reliable Dog Groomer to join our close-knit team! We pride ourselves on offering a calm, personalized, by-appointment environment with a one-on-one atmosphere where pets feel safe and loved. Location Note: Our shop is located in Craigsville, VA—an easy, scenic, stress-free drive with practically no traffic lights or congestion from Staunton, Lexington, and surrounding Augusta/Rockbridge areas! Pay & Compensation: Pay Structure: Competitive Commission or Hourly (open to negotiation based on experience and portfolio). Tips: 100% of tips on your dogs go directly to you. Shop Equipment Provided: Hydraulic/electric grooming tables, high-velocity dryers, bathing tubs, premium shampoos, conditioners, ear cleaners, colognes, and sanitation supplies. Work Schedule: Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Required 1 to 2 Saturdays per month ; set on a predictable advance schedule so you can always plan weekend trips and personal time). Daily Flow: We operate by appointment. Groomers manage their own natural rhythm, cleanup, and meal/rest breaks between dogs rather than following a rigid factory schedule. Key Responsibilities & Expectations: Daily Grooming Volume: Safely and efficiently groom 4 to 6 dogs per day with consistent finishing quality (adjusted reasonably for size, coat condition, and maintenance). Tub-to-Table Independence: Be fully self-sufficient with bathing, high-velocity blow drying, brushing, and prep work for your appointments. (Note: Our bathers have their own full schedules of bath dogs; while team assistance happens when time allows, this position is not supported by a dedicated bather). Breed & Size Comfort: Confidently handle, lift, and groom dogs of all sizes—from toy breeds to large and double-coated dogs. Front-of-House Teamwork: Greet pet parents warmly at check-in/check-out, answer client phone calls, book appointments in our scheduling system, and manage pet profile notes. Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized personal workstation and treat all pets with patient, low-stress, humane handling. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional dog grooming experience in a salon, veterinary, or mobile setting. Personal Tools: Must bring your own professional hand tools, including: Professional clippers and full set of blades Snap-on guard combs Quality shears (straights, curves, chunkers/thinners) Brushes, slickers, undercoat rakes, and finishing combs Work Ethic: Strong stamina, self-motivated, dependable, drama-free, and able to work smoothly without constant management. Portfolio & Interview: Must be able to provide photos/links of recent grooming work.
