Certified Nurse Assistant Clinical Instructor

We are excited about your interest in our district! District 87 is home to one high school, one junior high, six elementary schools, and one early childhood school. We also have the Bloomington Career Academy which provides career exploration opportunities to high school students at Bloomington High School and surrounding school districts. Please review the attached job description. This position is not eligible for insurance benefits. This position will be classified as part of the Part-Time Temporary Hourly Employee (PTTHE) group. Compensation for this position is anticipated to be $39.31/hour - this position will be expected to work approximately two days per week and approximately 2 hours per day. Qualifications

• Two years experience in geriatric nursing
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Currently possess or has the ability to attain Illinois CTE Teaching License
• RNs with an ADN or diploma must complete a department-approved Evaluator Workshop for initial approval (those with a BSN or higher are exempt). All RNs must provide proof of a department-approved 4-CEU training in Alzheimer's and related dementias.

Job Summary

• Instruct CNA course for Juniors and Seniors in the clinical setting

Performance Responsibilities

1. Knowledge of subject a. Demonstrate knowledge of basic nursing/medical skills as pertains to the education of Certified Nursing b. Has a working knowledge of IDPH CNA requirements, OSHA regulations, HIPAA and patient rights c. Willingness to participate in necessary training courses 2. Student-Teacher Relationship a. Help students grow in responsibility and professionalism b. Assist students to develop a positive self-concept c. Display fairness and equity when working with students 3. Instructional Techniques/Classroom and Clinical a. Responsible for assisting in the laboratory area for CNA student skill demonstrations and evaluations b. Plan and implement CNA activities and assignments of instruction while in the clinical area c. Provide information to learners about their progress throughout the clinical experience d. Communicate clear expectations about rules of conduct and grooming to students e. Maintain open and clear communication with the stakeholders regarding students' progress and classroom objectives 4. Interpersonal Skills a. Communicate personal enthusiasm and professionalism b. Communicate effectively and efficiently with students c. Open to new ideas and suggestions d. Dependable and punctual 5. Maintain communication and positive working relationships with colleagues, schools, community, students and parents 6. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities 7. Maintain accurate, complete, and punctual records as required by law, district policy and administration 8. Adhere to District 87 policies and procedures as well as the policies and procedures of Bloomington Career Academy and the McLean-DeWitt Regional Vocational System and participates in the development of policies and procedures when called upon 9.
