Summary: The Associate Scientist II, Analytical Development (Protein-Based Assays) supports the development and optimization of protein-based assays for AAV gene therapy products. This position is responsible for the execution of complex protein-based assays, contributing to method development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and consistency of our AAV gene therapy products. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the critical analytical aspects of gene therapy development. Responsibilities Lead the execution of complex protein-based assays independently and troubleshoot technical issues. Develop and optimize protein-based assays, including assay design, protocol development, and validation. Collaborate with scientists to analyze and interpret experimental data. Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members. Contribute to assay transfer activities between teams or sites. Participate in project planning and ensure timely delivery of results. Assist in the preparation of regulatory documents and support regulatory submissions. Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices into assay development. Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and robustness of assays. Actively engage in continuous improvement efforts for processes and methodologies. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, molecular biology). Proficiency in advanced laboratory techniques related to protein-based assays. Experience with assay development and optimization. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions. Strong data analysis skills and the ability to generate actionable insights from experimental results. Work Environment and Physical Demands Physical Requirements: This position works in both a laboratory environment and typical office environment where the physical work demands will vary depending on the specific tasks and duties equired of the job. The employee will be stationary (standing/sitting) for extended periods of time. Employees regularly wear personal protective equipment based on the task being performed. Must be able to work in a confined space, such as a clean room or laboratory environment. Ability to identify small details within the field of vision, distinguish between different colors, and accurately identify objects within a specific area.
