When you succeed, we all succeed.Position SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Church Street Inn. In this role, you'll take the lead on a variety of maintenance projects — ensuring the safety, functionality, and beauty of our property. From troubleshooting technical issues to performing preventative maintenance, you'll help us deliver the high-quality guest experience that defines Charleston hospitality.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance and repairs in guest units, buildings, and common areasSafely and effectively use hand and power tools for a wide range of maintenance tasksDiagnose and repair issues in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systemsInstall, service, and repair appliances with minimal supervisionConduct preventative maintenance to keep equipment and facilities in top conditionInspect rooms and resort areas to identify potential problems before they affect guestsAddress safety hazards immediately and report issues to managementPrioritize and complete daily assignments efficiently, communicating progress with the front desk and maintenance teamMaintain the overall appearance of the property by cleaning, organizing, and performing light upkeep tasksAdditional ResponsibilitiesAssist with groundskeeping, painting, and exterior maintenance projectsPower wash exterior areas and walkways as neededPrepare and secure property during severe weather eventsAssist guests with special maintenance needs to enhance their stayCollect and dispose of trash and debris as requiredQualificationsEducation & CredentialsHigh school diploma or GED requiredEPA Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a related tradeProficiency in at least one technical area (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work)Skills & CompetenciesStrong working knowledge of maintenance systems, tools, and safety standardsAbility to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues independentlyExcellent communication and teamwork skillsReliable, detail-oriented, and organizedCommitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and guest-ready environmentCore Competencies Accountability • Adaptability • Customer Focus • Enthusiasm • Integrity • Interpersonal Skills • Responsibility • Safety Awareness • TeamworkOther RequirementsValid driver's license requiredPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentThis position involves working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
