Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Work on mid-year and year-end business closings and prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements as well as maintaining the general ledger. Prepare and file individual tax returns. Prepare and file business tax returns (S-Corporations, Schedule C’s, Partnerships, Corporations). Monthly and quarterly sales tax filing. Maintain and calculate payroll information for our payroll clients as well as file quarterly payroll returns. Assistance with bookkeeping and bank reconciliations. Financial statement prep and assistance with audits, reviews, and compilations. Prepare and submit insurance audits. Qualifications Knowledge of tax laws and regulations. Proficient with accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, QuickBooks online, and Lacerte. Computer literate – especially with Microsoft Word and Excel. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and customer relationship skills. Willingness to learn new programs. Confidentiality. Ability to work independently. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Minimum three to five years of general accounting experience, specifically in individual and small business tax. Salary Commensurate with experience Schedule Full-time. Hours will increase during tax season.
