GenAI Platform Engineer

Location: South San Francisco, CA – Hybrid
Employment Type: 6-Month W2 Contract – No C2C
Pay Rate: $81.91–$91.51/hour

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced GenAI Platform Engineer to support the development of an enterprise-grade generative AI application layer for our client.

This role will focus on building the application logic that connects users with existing AI agents, tools, and enterprise data services. You will design intelligent routing, agent orchestration, reusable capabilities, and structured application contracts that combine user intent, conversation history, workflow context, and screen-level information.

The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience and hands-on expertise delivering production GenAI applications using AWS, Amazon Bedrock, and AgentCore. This is a highly technical role for an engineer who can independently design, build, test, and deploy reliable AI services with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise GenAI application services using Python or TypeScript.
• Build agent orchestration workflows, including intelligent routing, tool calling, agent chaining, and multi-agent coordination.
• Develop application logic that interprets user intent and combines conversation history, screen context, workflow information, and filters into structured downstream requests.
• Create and maintain clear API contracts and structured JSON schemas for communication between applications, agents, tools, and data services.
• Build reusable GenAI tools, workflow skills, and application capabilities that can be discovered and leveraged across multiple use cases.
• Integrate existing agents and structured-data services into scalable enterprise workflows.
• Transform agent responses into grounded narratives, tables, charts, citations, and standardized application response payloads.
• Implement capability discovery mechanisms such as agent registries, tool catalogs, workflow catalogs, or similar services.
• Ensure GenAI services are reliable, testable, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Deploy and support GenAI applications and services within AWS environments using Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate application requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong professional backend engineering experience using Python or TypeScript .
• Production experience with agent orchestration, tool calling, workflow routing, and multi-agent chaining .
• Strong API and schema design skills, including structured JSON input and output contracts .
• Experience combining user intent, conversation history, screen context, workflow information, and filters into downstream agent requests.
• Experience transforming agent results into narratives, tables, charts, citations, and consistent application responses.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI services with AWS, Amazon Bedrock, and AgentCore .
• Ability to independently design, develop, test, and deliver production-ready code with minimal guidance.

Preferred:

• Experience building capability registries, agent and tool catalogs, workflow skills, or discovery services .
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and API-first GenAI applications.
• Experience building analytics applications on top of existing semantic-layer or data-query agents.

Contract Details

Contract Length: 6 months
Employment Type: W2 Contract Only – No C2C
Pay Rate: $81.91–$91.51 per hour
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with the ability to work onsite approximately 1–2 days per week .

Candidates should also be able to maintain appropriate working-hour overlap with Pacific Time based on project and team requirements.
