RN Cath Lab Pre/Post PACU

The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab provides specialized pre-procedure, post-procedure, and PACU recovery care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related interventions. This role requires delivering direct patient care and procedural support in a fast-paced environment focused on vascular, electrical conduction, coronary diseases, and structural heart conditions. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety during acute and non-acute situations. Recent CVICU, cardiac care, or PACU experience is essential, with cath lab experience highly desired. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Monitor and assess patients' cardiac and overall clinical status using telemetry and other monitoring tools.
• Support procedural teams with preparation, patient positioning, and equipment management.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately in emergencies.
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiac care practices.

• Active Registered Nurse license (NY State only).
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in CVICU, cardiac care, or PACU.
• Telemetry monitoring proficiency.

• Experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system within the specialty area.

• Must be able to work straight night shifts.
• Occasional weekend shifts required based on unit needs.
• Ability to respond to urgent patient care needs in a fast-paced cardiac environment.

• 40 hours per week, scheduled as four 10-hour straight night shifts.
• Shift assignments and weekend coverage determined by unit staffing requirements.
