Senior Business Analyst

We need a senior business analyst with asset management experience, great communication, and solutioning mindset. Must have 15+ years of experience.

Typical business analyst responsibilities include:

• Strong experience in querying, mapping and documenting data
• Experience leading and directing others to achieve measurable results
• Demonstrated ability to articulate customized solutions to meet business requirements
• Advanced experience working with Agile/Kanban software development processes
• Advanced skills using a variety of tools to document workflows and data mapping including but not limited to Excel and Visio/Lucid
• Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and to be flexible in a dynamic environment
• Ability to thrive in a matrixed organization
• Understanding of analysis and documentation goals throughout the project lifecycle
• Ability to facilitate decision making through workshops
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a changing environment and under tight deadlines
• Ability to independently manage personal timelines and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to successfully manage and coordinate simultaneous project deliverables across groups and teams

Financial services is a must, specifically asset management background, preferably fixed income.

The candidate must be an independent contractor (IC) who can work independently. The team does not have a presence in Seattle, so the candidate must be able to take initiative in a new area with not a lot of documentation. The candidate must know what their 30/60/90 looks like and cannot be afraid to get their hands dirty, identify problems, come up with solutions, and bring the right people to the table.

Stakeholder management is very important, as well as working knowledge within Jira. The candidate should have some technical lingo to work with technical teams and strong data analysis within different databases, including SQL (simple SQL). Strong solutioning experience is required, where the candidate can take a large initiative and come up with an entire solution and delegate tasks to the team.

• Previous decommissioning or re-architecture initiatives

D2D:

• Current initiative: Data center decommissioning
• Plenty of applications on that data center that are being refined (refining new homes for the functionality)
• Work with business to understand what the current business looks like, document the user journeys, work with tech to understand the system flow, work with other members of the team to identify solutions / understand where these solutions will move to
• Ability to draw out user journeys
• Work with the business to write user stories

Misc:

• 15+ years of experience -- this is a Sr. role. This candidate must be able to work independently
