GYN/ONC Directorship - Stamford Hospital / Stamford Health - Recognized as the top hospital in Connecticut!
Our organization is seeking applications for a Board Certified/Board Eligible gynecologic oncologist to take on the role of Director of Gynecologic Oncology within the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. This position provides a chance to lead a well-established program with a robust referral network and to contribute to the ongoing development of comprehensive cancer services at our facility. We are dedicated to the growth of our cancer program and fostering academic partnerships.

Our hospital serves as a significant teaching affiliate of the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons , featuring independent residency programs in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and General Surgery. The selected candidate will join a program that has historically relied on contracted rotating GYN/ONC physicians and will transition to a full-time, institutionally supported gynecologic oncology service . We anticipate recruiting a second gynecologic oncologist alongside the opening of our new Cancer Center in 2028. Chemotherapy services are provided by on-site medical oncologists, and we utilize the EPIC EMR system.
ResponsibilitiesDeliver exceptional clinical care in gynecologic oncology (approximately 90% clinical focus)
Contribute to the administrative leadership of the program (approximately 10% focus)
Educate and mentor OB/GYN residents and medical students
Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate with colleagues in medical, surgical, and radiation oncology
Participate in clinical research and facilitate access to clinical trials
Perform surgeries in advanced operating rooms, including access to three robotic surgical platforms
Participate in a light call schedule (1 week in 4), shared with urogynecologists
Located in Stamford, CT, in the southwestern part of Fairfield County, our facility is less than an hour from NYC by commuter rail or car, one hour from LaGuardia International Airport, and 30 minutes from Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY.
