1st Shift Inventory Clerk

Location- Shelby

Pay- $26

Position Summary

Duties and responsibilities include supervising all activities for incoming products and materials and ensuring incoming product is accurately accounted for and entered correctly into the ERP system. Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and provide support to coworkers by addressing inventory concerns and answering questions while adhering to company procedures and policies.

· Responsible for the daily management of receiving employees and provide necessary training

· Fill in when needed for Receiving Clerk for time off (Vacations, Sickness or Personal time)

· Assist with unloading incoming shipments, completing purchase order receiving transactions and stocking inventory to correct warehouse locations

· Inspect merchandise upon receipt to verify quality and accuracy

· Generate reports and reconcile inventory quantities

· Responsible for product placement within the warehouse and material handling activities

· Process customer returns and assist with defective returns to vendor

· Make decisions about damaged freight from carriers, whether the product is acceptable or if it should be refused due to damage or incorrect item shipped

· Coordinate with drivers of incoming freight to set up delivery times when needed. Communicate with all carriers (LTL carriers, FedEx, UPS and USPS) regarding deliveries

· Assist in making decisions about damaged items from carriers, whether the product is acceptable or if product should be refused

· Ensure receiving area is clean and organized, pallets and inventory stacked neatly to prevent accidents

· Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, track orders, and investigate problems

· Manage all inventory transactions in ERP system and reconciles to quantities on hand. Provide required feedback to team as required

· Perform weekly periodic cycle counts of inventory and oversee the annual physical count of inventory and provide necessary training

Create and complete job orders for customer owned inventory and organize assembly projects as needed

· Unlock facility and deactivate the alarm system each morning before the employees arrive

· Make occasional trips to the Post Office and embroidery suppliers as needed

· Maintain warehouse # 2 and put overstock items in locations until needed for customer orders

· Locate and maintain defective inventory as it is found and put in an appropriate location

· Work closely with Purchasing, Client Services and Program Materials Department in handling customer orders and obtaining any materials needed

· Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance and contacting vendors to schedule repairs

· Ensures safety/operational guidelines are met

· Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department

· Complete other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in distribution.

Skills/Experience

· Required: Intermediate ability to effectively follow company policies

· Required: Intermediate ability to write and read correspondence in one-on-one and small group situations

· Required: Intermediate computer skills and the ability to compute simple math problems

· Required: Certified to operate forklift

· Required: Intermediate ability to create and/or update spreadsheets, and other company documents of various types

· Required: Intermediate ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness

· Required: Intermediate ability to multi-task with accuracy

· Required: Ability to work in a team environment

· Required: To lift up to 50lbs

Travel

Local travel for occasional errands is required.
