Job Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, applicant must work and communicate with the general public, internal and external customers. Applicant must be able to provide information and services targeted to meet the customer's expectations. Applicant will be trained to perform general administrative duties for various health department programs. The programs include Family Planning, Women's Health, BCCP, Sexual Health, Immunizations, Tuberculosis, Vital Records and Environmental Health. Employee will schedule appointments, answer office phone, transfer calls, take messages, fax, scan and make medical record entries. Employee will be responsible for sharing and communicating content with other members of team. All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 2 years of general office or administrative experience. MAPEP. Under the pre-employment fitness-for-duty this position is considered a Category 1: Sedentary: Primarily involves light physical work with minimal unusual working conditions. Examples include administrative roles, management, and HR specialists.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
