Your role at Clorox:

This position works under the guidance and oversight of a plant HSE Manager or Center HSE Leader and site Leadership to drive sustainable HSE Programs. This individual will report into either site HSE Leadership or off-site HSE Leadership and will interface with site leaders to ensure HSE & Fire Protection compliance. This individual will have to be self-guided and a self-starter to meet critical deadlines.

This position will be responsible for site HSE leadership and compliance. As an HSE Leader at the site, the HSE Specialist will ensure compliance to all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations in regard to Safety compliance. To include personnel training in these compliance areas, therefore good communication skills are required. This position will also maintain plant federal, state, and local permits (e.g. city, county, or another municipality.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage environmental compliance programs, including wastewater permits, Tier II reporting, SWP3, SPCC, and hazardous waste management.

  • Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives while establishing and tracking metrics to achieve HSE performance goals.

  • Serve as the primary contact for inspectors, maintaining strong and professional relationships.

  • Develop and implement processes that ensure a safe working environment across the entire plant.

  • Lead safety incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, including timely completion of required regulatory reporting.

  • Lead HSE training, education, and communication programs to ensure employees understand and comply with regulatory and company safety requirements.

  • Conduct regular HSE audits and on-site assessments to identify unsafe behaviors or conditions and take immediate corrective action.

  • Lead safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and support a "Zero Loss" safety mindset.

What we look for:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs in a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated production environment, with a strong emphasis on environmental compliance.

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field; equivalent experience with environmental program management and relevant certifications will also be considered (e.g., RCRA, DOT Hazardous Materials, OSHA 30).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance programs, including EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Stormwater Management, SPCC, Tier II reporting, waste management, and environmental permitting requirements.

  • Experience conducting environmental inspections, audits, compliance assessments, environmental monitoring and sampling activities, and implementing corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Proven ability to manage environmental reporting, hazardous waste programs, sustainability initiatives, pollution prevention efforts, and compliance documentation for local, state, and federal agencies.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills with the ability to influence environmental stewardship, promote a culture of compliance, and partner effectively with operations, maintenance, and plant leadership teams.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

-Zone A: $74,200 - $135,800

-Zone B: $68,000 - $124,500

-Zone C: $61,800 - $113,100

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox's incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
