Summary
Responsible for assisting customers with registration, daily admission, inquires, monitoring activities and serving food at the Holmes Aquatic Center
Duties

• Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers.
• Respond to and resolve customer issues and requests
• Perform clerical duties including but not limited to point-of-sale transactions, membership sales, and facility bookings
• Reconcile daily deposits
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of concession and guest service areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned
• Serve food items to guests
• Follow established City of University Park policies and procedures
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings
• Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance

Qualifications


If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:

• Attend mandatory drug screening
• Attend mandatory Human Resources orientation if hired as a new employee
• Attend all paid pre-season training sessions (required job skills, position specific and program training, etc.)
• Attend all mandatory paid inservice trainings as scheduled
• Be at work on time for every scheduled shift (arrive and clocked in 15-minutes before the scheduled start of the shift unless the shift is an opening shift)
• Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
• Wear staff uniform while on duty - Staff Shirt, appropriate shorts or pants, and head cover while in the Snack Shack
• Be available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays as well as opening and/or closing daily shifts., and Holmes Aquatic Center special events,
• Be willing to substitute for other Guest Services team members
• Be willing to work together for the better of the team
• Be available for a minimum of 70 work days during the season (14 days maximum approved days off season. Additional requests must have complete shift coverage before being approved)

Knowledge & Skills

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification
• American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 3 months of employment
• Preference prior experience operating a cash register
• Preference prior experience in customer service and food handling

Supplemental Information
Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors and outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Guest Services employee will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.

Job Type - Seasonal

In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours work over 40 in a designated work week.

Schedule

The City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. All positions require the ability to work flexible schedules up to 40 hours per week, with a preferred start date of April 27, 2026, and the availability to work Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. through 8:30 pm., including holidays and special events. Must pass a criminal background check (if 18 years old or older) and drug test.
