Job Overview – Staff Accountant – 34452 Sherpa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our client’s team at their Lancaster facility. This role will serve as a key link between finance, senior management and production while supporting the accounting needs of a fast-paced wholesale distribution and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with financial systems, analyzing data, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Compensation: To $80K Job Overview – Staff Accountant – 34452 Sherpa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our client’s team at their Lancaster facility. This role will serve as a key link between finance, senior management and production while supporting the accounting needs of a fast-paced wholesale distribution and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with financial systems, analyzing data, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, variance reports, and forecasts using accounting and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. Production & Cost Accounting: Partner with production management to track manufacturing costs, evaluate production efficiency, and maintain accurate inventory valuations and costing within the ERP system. Systems & Data Integrity: Maintain the accuracy of financial data, troubleshoot general ledger and system issues, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and system functionality. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management and production teams to translate financial data into actionable insights that support business growth, operational efficiency, and cost management. General Accounting: Support month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and A/P, A/R, and inventory-related accounting activities. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, wholesale distribution, supply chain, or similarly fast-paced environment. Accounting Systems: Strong hands‑on experience with accounting and ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms. Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis, and working with financial data within accounting systems. Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify discrepancies, and support accurate reporting. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial information and system-generated data to management and cross‑functional teams.
