Registered Nurse – Critical Care / Step-Down Unit
The Staff Pad | Wausau, WI | Multiple Shifts Available
The Staff Pad is partnering with a leading healthcare system to hire Registered Nurses for a high-acuity Critical Care / Step-Down Unit .
This unit cares for a complex patient population including cardiothoracic, post-surgical, and telemetry patients—offering exposure to ICU-level skills in a structured, team-driven environment .
What You’ll Do:- Provide care for patients requiring higher acuity monitoring (drips, chest tubes, central lines)
- Collaborate with a strong interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting
- Manage frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on safety and outcomes
- RN license (WI or compact eligible)
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Open to new grads and experienced nurses
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Exposure to advanced cardiac and critical care pathways
- Strong leadership presence and structured workflows
- Expansion into a new cardiac-focused tower
- Opportunities for growth into Charge RN and specialty roles
