Job Opportunity: Med Surg Registered Nurse

Shift Information

Full-time, night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Position Overview

The Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for planning and providing comprehensive patient care using the nursing process. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. The RN will also direct and guide patient teaching as well as the activities of ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Iowa RN license
• BCLS & ACLS certifications required
• Experience preferred, but not mandatory

Hours

This is a full-time position with 12-hour night shifts. The workweek follows a Monday through Sunday schedule.

Required Documentation

• Resume
• Two recent employment references
• Online verification of licensure or certification, including expiration date and any disciplinary actions
• BLS & ACLS certification copies (both sides)
• Copies of applicable certifications (e.g., TNCC, PALS, NRP)
• Immunizations:
  • MMR (Mumps, Rubeola & Rubella) - 2 doses or Positive Titers
  • Varicella - Positive titer or 2 Varicella vaccines
  • Polio vaccine
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Current TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) within 10 years
  • Flu vaccination (required during Flu Season from October 1 to March 31)
• Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, provide proof of positive result & chest x-ray
• Proof of physical examination within 1 year
• 10 Panel Drug Screen conducted within 1 month
• Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (can be provided if not available)
• Criminal Background check from all states where the candidate holds a professional license and has lived/worked in the past 7 years
• National &/or State Sex Offender Registry check
• GSA (EPLS) Sam.gov check
• OIG check
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse)
• Completion of CareLearning education modules (further instructions will be provided)
