Job Title: Travel RN - Med/Surg Float Pool
Location: Fairfield, CA 94533
Duration: 8 Weeks | 36 Hours/Week
Shift: Day/Night | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Job Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse for an 8-week travel assignment within the Float Pool. The RN will provide high-quality patient care across various Medical-Surgical and Medical-Telemetry units while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes.

The nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards, hospital policies, and patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and evaluate responses to treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise support staff as needed.
• Advocate for patients and support informed healthcare decisions.
• Ensure culturally competent and age-appropriate care.

Requirements

• Active California RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Associate Degree or BSN)
• Previous Travel Nursing experience required
• Recent Telemetry experience required
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Assignment Details

• Float Pool assignment
• Nurses will float among Med/Surg and Med/Tele units at both Fairfield and Vacaville campuses
• Travelers may float to different units but will not float between facilities during the same shift
• Department utilizes AWS scheduling
• Manager references required with submission
