Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. - Serve as the senior recreation/resource management specialist assigned to the project(s).
- Develop or review budget proposals for program areas; identifying materials, supplies, and staff necessary to implement plans.
- Prepare concept plans for needed recreation facility rehabilitation, additions, and new construction.
- Administer service contracts.
- Serve as an Ordering Officer and make over-the-counter purchases or telephone orders, within approved limits, using the Government credit card.
- Direct the safety inspections of all Corps recreation facilities and resolve deficiencies
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee will wear the Corps' authorized uniform in the performance of duties as prescribed by AR 670-10 and supplements.
- Incumbent must receive a minimum of 24 hours of personal protection/unarmed self defense, situational evaluation, and tactical communication training within two years of employment.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to acquire first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and blood-borne pathogen training.
- Work nights and weekends.
- Possess or ability to acquire a state driver's license and COE boat operator license.
- Occasional overnight travel.
- TDY is required up to 10% of the time.
- Position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with AR 600-85.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This position may require a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest.
