Together, we do great things.Who You Are: The Director of Electrical Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing electrical engineering design, standards, and execution across mission‑critical development projects. This role plays a critical part in delivering scalable, reliable, and innovative electrical systems that align with business objectives and support the development of large‑scale, mission‑critical facilities.This role operates within the Design and Engineering team and works closely with cross‑functional teams including Development, Construction, Operations, Sales Engineering, and external stakeholders. The role requires deep technical expertise in electrical systems for data centers and similar mission‑critical environments, combined with strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.What You Will Do: Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering team, providing technical direction, mentorship, and performance managementOversee electrical design and engineering activities across multiple projects and regionsDrive development and implementation of electrical engineering solutions that support business growth and operational excellenceReview and approve electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practicesPartner with Development, Pre‑Construction, and Construction teams to support campus‑level master planning and complete electrical design solutionsIdentify and resolve technical issues, risks, and design challenges to support successful project executionDevelop scopes of work for electrical engineering and design services and support procurement and cost estimating effortsCollaborate with Strategic Procurement on electrical equipment specifications, selection, and vendor coordinationCreate and present clear, concise design and program updates to executive leadership on a regular basisSupport due diligence efforts for new site acquisitions and development opportunities as neededCollaborate with Sales Engineers and Product teams to support custom electrical solutions for prospective clientsEstablish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partnersContribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and engineering standardsThe Impact You Will Have:Drive decision‑making to the lowest effective level while maintaining alignment across teams and regionsInfluence priorities, system architecture, and technical direction for national‑level projectsActively develop team members through mentoring, onboarding, and professional growthPromote simplicity, innovation, scalability, and maintainability in electrical design solutionsAdapt effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environmentWhat You Will Need to be Successful (basic qualifications):Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent professional experience12+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering design within the construction or mission‑critical facilities industry12+ years of experience managing mission‑critical design, implementation, and project executionDirect experience designing electrical systems for data centers, critical facilities, or large‑scale infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of electrical industry standards, methodologies, and performance‑based design approachesProject management or project lead experience on large, complex programsProven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leadership and non‑technical stakeholdersProficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint and ExcelAbility to travel up to 50%, typically every other week for 2–3 daysU.S. Citizenship required due to federal customer contractsOther Key Skills:Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred, not required)Experience with electrical systems supporting mission‑critical operations, construction, and facility maintenanceAdvanced knowledge of multidisciplinary coordination and integration of electrical systems within complex environmentsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage deadlines independently while supporting and guiding staffProven capability to influence cross‑discipline teamsStrong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and decision‑making abilitiesDemonstrated leadership presence and organizational skillsThe Perks (and these are just a few!):Q-Rest Sabbatical Employee Stock Purchase PlanQTS scholarship for dependentsEagle Club Award Trip EligibilityPaid Volunteer and Floating days Tuition Assistance, Parental Leave and Military Leave AssistanceWe conform to all the laws, statutes, and regulations concerning equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
