A Line Cook prepares and cooks food according to restaurant recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. They work at designated stations on the cooking line, ensuring dishes are prepared accurately, efficiently, and on time during service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, marinating, and measuring items.
- Cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and kitchen areas.
- Follow food safety and health regulations.
- Monitor food inventory and notify supervisors of shortages.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Maintain consistent food quality during busy service periods.
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking or restaurant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
