Systems Engineer (Hybrid)

Koniag Management Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to support KMS and our government customer at Fort Lee, VA. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This is a Hybrid position that requires working on-site a minimum of 3 days per week.

\n

\n

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

\n

\n

\n
• Provide subject matter expertise relating to operational behavior (data flows, system exchanges, interfaces, inputs, outputs, and processes).
\n
• Develop a system-level SE Plan, system architecture, system interface diagrams, system information plan, system configuration baseline, and other documentation.
\n
• Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key systems and agency solutions to include data flows and system interfaces.
\n
• Teaming with enterprise architecture and test teams, providing operational system knowledge
\n
• Analyze program effectiveness/contractor performance for the system and identify critical areas and anticipated cost/budget impact of changes in system requirements/configuration baseline, and impact on the program
\n
• Capable of assimilating information from various technical specialties and devising innovative solutions.
\n
• Support the development of an Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) and technical briefings
\n
• Facilitate or lead as the Systems Engineering Working Level Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings in the preparation, approval, and submission of all engineering-related documentation, including the Systems Engineering Plan, associated system performance specifications, and information support plan, leading to the Investment Review Board (IRB) certification and subsequent milestone approval.

• Develop and coordinate minutes of any SE input/slides for all milestone briefings, charts, documentation, and program updates.
\n
• Develop, update, and maintain SE documentation based on the DoD 5000 series.
\n
• Conduct or monitor systems application development.
\n
• May coordinate and lead the work of subordinate engineers on assigned projects.
\n
• Work cross-functionally with other IT organizations to support the agency's mission.
\n
• Gain knowledge of the end-to-end operations of the Agency’s mission-critical solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :

\n

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in a related area (or equivalent).
\n
• 5+ years' experience as a Systems Engineer or equal experience in developing, implementing, and enhancing information systems, preferably for the federal government.
\n
• Familiar with enterprise architecture frameworks, and diagrams/views.
\n
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
\n
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
\n
• Possess advanced troubleshooting skills.
\n
• Lead and direct the work of others.
\n
• 2+ years of experience supporting and sustaining DOD programs preferred.
\n
