Industrial Journey Electrician and Instrumentation Technician

Overview Clean Harbors is searching for a licensed Journeyman who is a reliable and safety oriented I&E Technician to join our La Porte, TX team! The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC ladder logic, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical and maintenance departments with various tasks as needed. Responsibilities Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner. Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions. Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations. Maintains accurate records and logs as required. Installs new system controls (including power wiring). Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers. Services and replaces motors and lighting. Performs general electrical maintenance. Other duties as assigned. What does it take to work for Clean Harbors? HS Diploma OR Equivalent required. Required - Texas Journeyman Electrician License. PLC Ladder Logic troubleshooting and/or programming. VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) Programming knowledge preferred. Experience reading blueprints, and electronic schematics. Proficiency reading process and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs). Knowledge of Data Control Systems (DCS). Experience with 480v and below. Lift up 50lb, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
