Mechanical Engineer – Precision Tooling & Spin Casting We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design and develop precision tooling for spin-casting processes used in our urethane belting and molded-products manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Design and develop spin-casting molds and precision tooling using SolidWorks. Collaborate with manufacturing leaders and outside vendors to optimize tooling for production efficiency. Develop tooling specifications, including: Surface finishes Durability requirements Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on production feedback. Maintain tooling documentation, drawings, and version-control systems. Provide technical support to mold makers and production teams during tooling trials. Stay current with advancements in spin-casting technology and mold-making techniques. Ensure tooling designs meet applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3–5+ years of experience in tool design, mold design, precision machining, or a related field. Proficiency with SolidWorks and preferably AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software. Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common shop tools. Familiarity with CNC machining processes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail. Preferred Experience The following experience is highly desirable: Spin casting, centrifugal urethane mold casting, or similar manufacturing processes. Urethane molding or experience with similar elastomeric materials. Rapid prototyping technologies, including 3D printing for mold development. Heat-treatment processes used to improve mold durability. Foundry or die-casting environments. Troubleshooting machine controls and electrical systems. Working Conditions Primarily office-based, with occasional work in manufacturing and production areas. Standard business hours, with potential for occasional overtime during project deadlines. Safety equipment provided as needed for shop-floor visits. Occasional lifting of light materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
