Responsibilities

• Initiate, monitor, and adjust life-support ventilation as ordered, including airway management and weaning planning; manage endotracheal/tracheostomy tubes as needed.
• Participate in resuscitation efforts, including airway management and arterial blood gas sampling as required.
• Assess and treat patients with respiratory disorders; determine therapy modality, medications, equipment, and treatment duration; coordinate with physicians.
• Administer prescribed therapies (nebulized medications, chest physiotherapy, suctioning) and monitor patient response; document results.
• Operate pulmonary function testing equipment and perform basic screening; provide results to the physician for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Sleep study procedures (polysomnography) as assigned.

Requirements

• Hawaii Respiratory Therapist license(s) required
• NBRC-recognized Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) certification
• Education: Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Experience: Not specified in notes; travel/previous clinical experience preferred
• Ability to work in a hospital setting and maintain flexibility for shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
