Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of experience and NBSTSA certification.

Details

• Hospital Operating Room setting
• 3x12-hour Day shifts, 0645-1915, Monday-Friday with no set day off
• Weekend call and holiday shifts required
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
• 1 year of scrubbing experience required
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months, or 2 years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last 3 years
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• BLS certification (AHA) required, must not expire prior to start
• Active state license required if applicable
• DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Function as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, reporting to Surgical Services management
• Maintain sterile field and ensure a safe operating room environment
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures
• Assist the surgeon(s) during procedures within ORT scope of practice
• Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
• Participate in surgical operations safety initiatives and practices
• Support system-wide surgical operations initiatives
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least one year before being eligible for a new travel assignment
