Job Summary:
The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) located in Boston, Massachusetts. The role involves providing care to patients with multisystem failure focusing on advanced heart failure management, with support for patients on mechanically circulatory support such as impella, durable ventricular assist devices (VAD), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Shift: Rotating shift schedule (day/night) with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • Certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS)
  • Education and Degree Requirements: Nursing degree with appropriate licensure as a registered nurse
  • Experience: 2+ years of level 1 ICU experience, including experience with mechanical circulatory support (MCS) such as impella, durable VAD, ECMO, and IABP; at least 1 year of travel experience
  • Location Requirements: Must hold a current nursing license valid in Massachusetts
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in advanced heart failure management
• Additional Information:
  • Supports patients on mechanically circulatory support such as impella, durable VAD, ECMO, IABP
  • Clinician to patient ratio is 1:2
  • Patient population includes multisystem failure with a focus on advanced heart failure as well as postoperative cardiac surgical patients
