Learning Program Manager

The Technical Learning Program Manager is responsible for the strategic administration, governance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s technical training programs, learning systems, and compliance processes. This position serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for technical learning administration, partnering with Operations, Technical Training, Safety, Compliance, and manufacturer representatives to develop standardized training strategies, establish operational standards, and ensure regulatory and organizational compliance. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES : Training Program Administration & Coordination Coordinate manufacturer training programs, including scheduling, enrollment management, certification tracking, and training portal administration. Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturer training providers, internal stakeholders, and field personnel. Lead relationships with manufacturer training providers, negotiating schedules, priorities, and training opportunities that align with organizational objectives. Establish and maintain an annual schedule of manufacturer-led training opportunities for employees. Evaluate manufacturer training offerings and determine organizational applicability, priorities, and implementation strategies. Support the implementation and ongoing administration of pre-engineered and fire extinguisher technical training programs. Lead technical learning improvement initiatives that require cross-functional collaboration among Operations, Safety, Compliance, HR, and manufacturer partners. Research industry best practices and emerging training methodologies and recommend implementation where appropriate. Training Compliance, Tracking & Reporting Administer and maintain training records, tracking systems, and learning management system (LMS) data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Monitor employee training progress, completion status, and certification requirements. Analyze training participation, completion, and certification trends to identify organizational skill gaps and recommend corrective actions. Identify training and certification gaps across branch locations and prioritize training initiatives to support operational needs.Recommend process improvements to increase training efficiency, reduce compliance risk, and improve employee engagement. Administer DOT RIN requirements and related compliance activities for applicable branches. SOPs, Standards & Communication Lead the development, implementation, and governance of standardized technical training procedures across the organization. Evaluate existing operational practices and recommend standardized processes to improve consistency, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Develop organizational standards for technical learning, certification management, and operational training documentation. Collaborate with executive and operational leadership to establish long-term technical learning strategies. Interpret manufacturer requirements and regulatory guidance and translate them into organizational training standards. Support the Vice President of Operations – Suppression in developing, maintaining, and communicating training requirements, procedures, and operational initiatives. Support the Technical Training Manager – FLS Systems in developing, maintaining, and standardizing safety compliance procedures to promote consistent operational practices and regulatory compliance across all subsidiaries. Develop and continuously improve technical learning curriculum, instructional resources, and learning standards. Evaluate training effectiveness through performance metrics and stakeholder feedback and implement improvements. Recommend enhancements to instructional methodologies and learning technologies. Develop standardized learning resources that improve knowledge transfer and operational consistency across business units. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications. Education, Training, Certifications: High School diploma, technical or related experience, required. NICET Certification for Special Hazard Systems, preferred. Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements: 10 years’ experience with Pre-Engineered Fire Systems and Fire Extinguisher Servicing 1+ years of managerial experience, preferred. Communication Skills: Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers. Systems and Software Skills: Able to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office, required. Familiarity with Novara Flex EHS platform, preferred. Familiarity with pre-engineered and fire extinguisher manufacturer training portals, preferred. Other Qualifications: Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement. Employee will be occasionally required to wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
