Assistant Store Manager

We’re seeking an Assistant Retail Manager to support daily operations at our Waterville Adult Use Cannabis dispensary. This key leadership role partners with the Retail Manager to guide the team, coach Retail Associates, maintain compliance with Maine Adult Use program regulations, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The Assistant Retail Manager also serves as the acting store leader when the Retail Manager is off‑site. Key Responsibilities Open and close the retail store following ECC’s standard procedures. Assist Retail Associates with customer interactions, transaction processing, and high-touch service. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store, coaching team members as needed. Receive, verify, and manage inventory from cannabis and non-cannabis vendors, including daily counts and reconciliation. Assist the Retail Manager with performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions. Share expert knowledge of cannabis products, industry trends, regulations, and ECC brand standards. Merchandise and zone store inventory to maintain brand aesthetics. Perform general cash handling and register management. Follow ECC security protocols and maintain a safe environment. Update in‑house menus, displays, and literature as needed. What You Bring Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with customers in a friendly, informative, and professional way. Excellent attention to detail, especially with compliance and inventory accuracy. Ability to multitask efficiently in a high‑energy environment Personal familiarity with cannabis and a genuine interest in continuing to learn. A team‑oriented, outgoing, and customer‑first mindset. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Comfort working in close proximity to teammates with respect and awareness. Schedule & Availability Our dispensary is open 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM, seven days a week. This role requires a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
