We'd rely on your collaboration skills to lead our team members, and coordinate interdisciplinary work between teammates, for both local and remote projects. The projects associated with this position will focus on electrical distribution systems primarily for water and wastewater treatment-related facilities which typically include process treatment structures and buildings. By you taking the lead with generating and reviewing electrical equipment drawings, specifications, and approving vendor submittals we will continue to ensure the solid relationship our clients have come to expect from Jacobs. Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking and collaboration, and extreme organizational skills and we'll help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.We'll expect you to:Be responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilitiesFrom planning studies to final design, the electrical engineer will lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projectsElectrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteriesExpertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industryManage several different assignments simultaneouslyProvide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water marketPerform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flashHave competency in equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordinationPerform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clientsProvide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor's request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawingsCollaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locationsDevelop basis of design reports and technical memorandumsMentor junior staffHere's what you'll need:Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states (or ability to obtain PE license within one year of hire)Substantial years of experience in professional design of electrical systems associated with water projectsLow and medium voltage power distribution experienceSolid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirementsHands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment optionsElectrical system testing and commissioning experienceProficiency with NFPA 820 requirementsIdeally, you'll also have:Instrumentation and Control system design experienceExperience with LEED certification or similar sustainability experienceOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
