Occupational Therapist (School-Based Program)

Schedule : Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Contract Length : 5 Weeks

Overview :

We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students in a school-based ESY (Extended School Year) program. This role will support TK–8th grade students within a special education setting and involves providing occupational therapy assessments, consultations, and direct therapy services.

The caseload includes approximately 19 students, with a mix of both group and individual therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessments
• Observe and assess motor skills, sensory processing, posture, movement patterns, and functional abilities
• Provide direct therapy services in both individual and group settings
• Collaborate with special education teams to identify appropriate services and educational strategies
• Assist in developing functional motor goals for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Attend IEP meetings and maintain accurate student progress documentation
• Provide recommendations to classroom staff to improve student participation and classroom functionality
• Train classroom staff on body mechanics, lifting safety, positioning, and handling techniques

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Current NBCOT certification
• Active California Occupational Therapist License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with TK–12 students
• Experience supporting students with disabilities
• Prior school-based or ESY experience preferred
