An established office-based pharmacy in Clearwater, FL, is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract with potential extension or temp-to-hire opportunity. This role offers Monday through Friday daytime hours from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, starting approximately two weeks after the offer is accepted.

In this position, you will manage key pharmacy functions including processing and filling prescriptions, handling insurance claims with adjudication and rejection resolution, and preparing medications for pharmacist verification. Responsibilities also include data entry, inventory management with cycle counts and restocking, and assisting with medication returns and destruction. You’ll support department needs by cross-training across various pharmacy tasks while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process prescriptions, address insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification and shipment
• Perform thorough data entry and manage prescription paperwork efficiently
• Communicate clearly with patients and prescribers to ensure seamless operations
• Maintain inventory accuracy through daily counts, restocking, and expiration tracking
• Assist with medication returns, quarantine, and destruction workflows
• Cross-train in diverse pharmacy functions to support team flexibility
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards

Qualifications:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida with national certification (PTCB, NHA, EXCPT, or equivalent)
• Minimum 2+ years recent pharmacy technician experience (retail, closed door, mail order, or long-term care)
• Highest level of education documented on your resume (HS, GED, Bachelor’s, etc.)
• Local candidates preferred

• Strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and time management skills
