- Manage and supervise all unpack room production activities in alignment with production orders, inventory levels, and established process guidelines.
- Ensure completion of daily and weekly production plans and secure on-time delivery of all parts from the unpack room to assembly with high quality standards.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of management systems related to production, equipment optimization, safety inspections, environmental protection, and production statistics.
- Lead a team of approximately five operators per shift, overseeing repetitive unpackaging work from automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and coordinating loading of materials onto conveyors for downstream assembly.
- Monitor and adjust workflow to maintain efficient operations, minimize bottlenecks, and support consistent throughput in the unpack room.
- Drive performance by setting clear expectations, holding yourself and your team accountable to high standards, and practicing servant leadership.
- Build strong interpersonal relationships with team members and create a supportive, collaborative work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned tasks effectively.
- Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process improvement opportunities and coaching problem resolution at the lowest possible level.
- Apply a Positive Employee Relations (PER) approach in daily interactions, addressing concerns constructively and promoting open communication.
- Collaborate with other supervisors, production teams, and support functions to align on production priorities and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and statistics, and use data to inform decisions and drive ongoing process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, and promote a strong culture of safety within the team.

- 2 years of experience in a battery cell manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume production environment.
- Experience in quality-focused manufacturing operations.
- Exposure to process optimization and equipment efficiency initiatives.
- Experience implementing or supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving facility and production scope, including new products and technologies.
Why Work Here?
You will join a brand-new, large-scale battery cell facility at an early stage, giving you the opportunity to help shape operations and be part of the plant’s foundational team. The organization offers strong potential for advancement as the facility grows and expands production capacity. The rotating schedule provides extended blocks of time off, supporting work-life balance while maintaining a consistent, predictable pattern. You will work in a modern, cutting-edge environment focused on advanced energy storage technologies and continuous improvement, with the chance to grow your skills and career in a fast-evolving sector.
Work Environment
This role is based in a new, multi-billion-dollar battery manufacturing facility located on a large campus dedicated to jobs, opportunities, and recreation. The main cell and pack building spans a substantial footprint, with extensive support structures and a total site area of approximately 500 acres. The plant is designed to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells for grid-scale energy storage as well as components for midsize electric trucks, with a planned capacity of 20 GWh annually. The facility is in a growth phase, targeting 1,700 full-time employees, with over 100 already hired. Supervisors will initially participate in training on a daytime schedule: the first week runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a second week focused on training operators Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In the third week, supervisors transition to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. One supervisor pattern consists of working Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in week one, and Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. in week two, repeating every two weeks (four days on, three days off). The alternate supervisor pattern mirrors this with three days on and four days off, providing consistent rotation and extended rest periods. The unpack room environment involves repetitive tasks, including unpackaging materials from automated guided vehicles (AGVs), loading conveyors, and coordinating with downstream assembly operations. The facility emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency, with structured production systems, safety inspections, environmental controls, and production statistics. Dress and attire are typical for a manufacturing setting, with an expectation of appropriate workwear and adherence to safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
