Patient Services Specialist

Provide caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience Interact with patients and families in sensitive situations Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment in a hectic environment Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting Perform arrival and/or departure desk activities accurately Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during registration Enter and maintain confidential patient, insurance, billing, and payment information Assist billing functions or direct inquiries to the appropriate billing office Demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and appropriate responses Follow applicable federal and state healthcare regulations Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Computer experience required Customer relations experience required Experience with Medical Records Software preferred Front desk practice experience preferred Must be able to sit for long periods of time Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.
