HVAC Chiller Technician

We are seeking an experienced  Centrifugal Chiller Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and startup of large commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with  Trane, York, Carrier, and/or Daikin centrifugal chillers , along with a strong understanding of chiller controls, refrigeration systems, and mechanical equipment.  This position requires a self-motivated technician capable of working independently while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest safety standards.

The successful candidate is a highly skilled chiller specialist with proven experience on  Trane, York, Carrier, and/or Daikin centrifugal chillers , capable of independently diagnosing complex mechanical and controls issues while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a strong safety culture.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain:

\n

• Trane centrifugal chillers

\n

• York centrifugal chillers

\n

• Carrier centrifugal chillers

\n

• Daikin/McQuay centrifugal chillers

\n

• Perform preventive maintenance, annual inspections, and major overhauls.

\n

• Analyze chiller performance using vibration analysis, oil analysis, and operational data.

\n

• Troubleshoot and repair:

\n

• Chiller control systems

\n

• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

\n

• Refrigerant circuits

\n

• Motor and compressor issues

\n

• Condenser and evaporator problems

\n

• Conduct leak detection, refrigerant recovery, charging, and evacuation procedures.

\n

• Perform tube cleaning, eddy current testing coordination, and mechanical inspections.

\n

• Interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, ladder logic, and technical manuals.

\n

• Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer recommendations.

\n

• Respond to emergency service calls and participate in an on-call rotation.

\n

• Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, and company safety standards.

\n

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication and technical expertise.

\n

\n

\n

• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience .

\n

• Minimum 3 years of centrifugal chiller experience .

\n

• Demonstrated experience servicing one or more of the following:

\n

• Trane CenTraVac

\n

• York YK / YT Series

\n

• Carrier 19XR / 19DV / 19XRV

\n

• Daikin/McQuay Magnitude or equivalent

\n

• EPA Universal Certification.

\n

• Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills.

\n

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

\n

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

\n

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
\n

\n

• Johnson Controls/York

\n

• Carrier

\n

• Daikin

\n

• Experience with:

\n

• BACnet systems

\n

• Building Automation Systems (BAS)

\n

• Chiller plant optimization

\n

• VFD troubleshooting

\n

• Oil management systems

\n

• Magnetic bearing chillers

\n

• Journeyman HVAC License (where applicable).

\n

• Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, healthcare, airports, data centers, or large commercial campuses.
