Staff Program Manager, Technical

Illumina seeks a Staff Program Manager to oversee execution of High Throughput Sequencing platform initiatives, including NovaSeq X and NovaSeq 6000. This role partners with cross-functional teams across development, quality, operations, and commercial organizations to drive product improvements, lifecycle management, and business performance in a highly matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of platform initiatives spanning product improvements, reliability enhancements, quality actions, and lifecycle management
• Partner with Product Technical Leads and cross-functional teams to define and execute platform priorities and integrated program plans
• Coordinate governance forums, executive reviews, and On-Market Core Team activities to drive alignment and decision-making
• Identify, manage, and communicate program risks, issues, dependencies, and trade-offs while tracking performance metrics
• Support lifecycle management, design changes, quality improvements, field issues, and post-market initiatives

Requirements

• 8+ years program management experience leading complex cross-functional technical initiatives
• Demonstrated expertise in integrated scheduling, resource planning, budgets, and executive reporting
• Proficiency in program governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment
• Experience managing hardware, software, consumables, or integrated product systems
• Knowledge of FDA-regulated product environments, design controls, and change management
• PMP certification required; experience with product development and life science instrumentation preferred
• Strong communication, negotiation, and executive-influence skills across matrixed organizations

Compensation: $129,400 - $194,000 base
