Responsibilities Apply senior‑level database skills to support upload, quality assurance, analysis, and presentation of Thriving Texas Families (TTF) data. Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that translate raw data into actionable insights for business decision‑making. Execute detailed data analysis, needs assessment, data extraction, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the TTF database. Provide mentorship to TTF team members on compiled datasets, contract management, open record requests, and legislative data requests. Communicate with Information Technology and other stakeholders to identify, design, and implement automation for database efficiencies. Support migrations to the TTF data management system, ensuring data reliability and functionality through publishing and maintenance. Monitor and resolve database performance issues, providing triage support for production, development, and test environments. Integrate data from multiple sources (Excel, SAS, SQL Server) and maintain data accuracy and consistency. Develop and update database procedures, data dictionaries, and documentation to support data standards. Create and maintain test database environments to validate updates and legislative changes. Essential Job Functions 40% Consult, coordinate, and communicate with leadership and IT to identify and implement automated efficiencies. 20% Support migrations, develop and maintain TTF database, produce Power BI dashboards, and identify data errors. 10% Perform procedures for database recovery and triage support. 10% Connect and integrate data from multiple sources, test and ensure clarity of database procedures. 10% Maintain data standards and update documentation. 10% Create test environments for updates and legislative requests. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Database system development and issue description with IT staff. Developing, publishing, and maintaining Power BI reports. Gathering business requirements and translating into technical solutions. Preparing database documentation, procedures, and data dictionaries. Connecting and integrating data from SQL Server, Excel, Azure, etc. Interpreting data patterns and trends and assessing data quality. Analyzing report performance for data accuracy. Resolving data‑related issues and providing technical support. Collaborating with stakeholders to identify reporting needs. Providing training and support to end users. Effective verbal and written communication. Advanced MS Office proficiency, especially Excel. Independent judgment and initiative. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Initial Screening Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or program area (experience may be substituted on a year‑to‑year basis). Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL databases, and writing SQL queries. Experience with dashboarding tools such as Tableau. Experience querying SQL databases.
