Registered Nurse Telemetry

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients on a 12-hour night shift, ensuring patient safety, accurate monitoring, and effective care delivery. Collaborate with the healthcare team to support post-cardiac procedures and acute patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and EKGs to identify cardiac arrhythmias and notify providers promptly.
• Administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone, ensuring patient stability.
• Perform procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement, chest tube maintenance, and temporary pacemaker care.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver comprehensive post-procedural care for patients recovering from cardiac interventions.
• Document all patient care accurately using Meditech, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety by providing courteous care, involving patients in bedside reports, and educating on equipment use.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with active BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum one year of experience in cardiac telemetry, PCU, or ICU settings.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips and EKGs.
• Demonstrated ability to perform post-cardiac procedure care and manage complex IV medications.
• Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
