This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an exciting and challenging work environment./ppIn this role, you will be responsible for operating shuttle buses and multi-passenger vans on both predetermined routes making stops at designated locations and on call-out to student residences within an approximate one and one-half mile radius of campus, or between any university buildings, including university off-campus housing./ph2Core Responsibilities Include:/h2ulliSafety and security of passengers by immediately reporting any criminal or suspicious activity, including any incidents when passenger(s) create a disturbance, pose a threat to others, and request medical assistance for ill or injured passengers/liliReporting hazardous road conditions and any traffic citations, violations, or incidents/liliSafely operating escort bus or other assigned vehicle while on duty, including conducting a visual and physical inspection of the assigned vehicle before, during, and at the end of the shift./liliRefueling and cleaning the interior of the vehicle as needed, and immediately report any maintenance problems or concerns/liliFollowing all required traffic laws as contained in Title 18, The PA Vehicle Code, and all Federal DOT regulations and requirements for CDL operators/liliMaintaining constant direct contact with and follow all instructions and directions from the Transportation Manager/liliFollowing all established routes, and staying in sync with all established department guidelines, rules, and protocols/li/ulh2You Should Demonstrate:/h2ulliAbility to interact professionally and respectfully with a diverse campus community./liliStrong attention to detail and ability to keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records./liliExcellent verbal communication skills/liliAbility to understand and follow motor vehicle/traffic laws while maintaining a safe and secure environment within the vehicle/liliWillingness to work evening hours and shift work/liliStrong interpersonal skills and ability to perform clearly defined tasks with minimal direction/liliStrong reasoning and problem-solving skills to build positive relationships/liliProficient computer and analytical skills./li/ulh2Qualifications:/h2ulliHigh School Diploma or GED/lili1-3 years of previous driving experience/liliValid PA Drivers License/liliCommercial Drivers License (CDL) w/ Passenger Endorsement (Class A or B with passenger endorsement and without air brake restriction and current medical card)/liliValid DOT Medical Certificate/li/ulh2Requirements:/h2ulliSuccessful Background Check/liliPre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Screen- subject to post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing as necessary/liliPA Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)/liliFitness for duty assessment and pre-employment medical exam/liliDriver history check, including record of violations and crashes/liliMust register and provide electronic consent to initial full query with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse resulting in no prohibitions./liliConsent to yearly FMCSA Clearinghouse and driver Motor Vehicle Record queries/li/ulh2Additional Information:/h2ulliSponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States.
