What You’ll Do The Circulating/Scrub Registered Nurse provides care, treatment, counseling, and health education to patients in the intraoperative phase. Monitors patient’s physiologic and emotional status in the operative environment; provides continuous patient surveillance for early recognition and immediate emergency treatment of medical or surgical complications. Communicates with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, & other members of the health care team. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment, inventory, and sterilization. Assesses the operating room for equipment function, readiness, & supply availability. Arranges supplies & instruments, keeps accurate counts, passes instruments & sterile supplies, applies dressings, helps to prepare & preserve specimens, operates the sterilizer, & other operating room equipment. Assists the Circulating RN in assessing operating room for equipment function, readiness, supply availability, & ensures the needs of the operating team are met. Who We’re Looking For Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. Licensed in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse. A temporary permit issued by the Board of Nursing will be accepted until a permanent license is received if awaiting reciprocity. Must have current BLS card upon hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment. ACLS and PALS certification is required within 6 months of initial employment and must maintain current certification status throughout GRHD employment. Completion of the Surgical Technologist Orientation via on the job training. One year of professional nursing experience scrubbing or circulating in an operating room patient care setting preferred.
