We value relationships and invest in our employees.Position SummaryThe Electrical and Low Voltage Combination Technician will support infrastructure initiatives across multiple and continuous retail sites with a strong emphasis on travel-based field work. This role combines electrical expertise with low voltage/data experience to support critical network, power, and infrastructure upgrades. Because these upgrades occur during off-hours to avoid site disruption, this position requires nearly exclusive overnight work (typically 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and the ability to work irregular hours based on project needs. Extensive travel, including overnight stays for up to multiple weeks at a time, is required.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and replace network switches and related hardwareMount, hang, rework or relocate IDF cabinets and associated componentsPerform disconnect/reconnect of electrical power in accordance with safety and compliance standardsReconfigure or relocate electrical circuits when required for cabinet moves or equipment changesConduct MDF and IDF room cleanups, including cable management, labeling, re-termination and documentationExecute re-cabling projects for departments or operational areas needing infrastructure refresh.Read and interpret electrical diagrams, network maps and construction plansEnsure all work complies with electrical codes, low voltage standards, safety procedures and company guidelinesCollaborate closely with project managers, internal stakeholders and site contacts to coordinate work and provide updatesMaintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and conditions foundTroubleshoot electrical or network related issues onsite and recommend corrective actionsTravel extensively to assigned sites, often with short notice, to support project schedulesRequired QualificationsElectrical Journeyman or Apprentice license3+ years of experience in electrical, low voltage or data infrastructure workProven experience with network equipment installation, including switches and rack mounted componentsAbility to safely disconnect/reconnect power and perform basic electrical modificationsStrong understanding of MDF/IDF best practices, cable management and structured cabling standardsAbility to lift, mount and secure heavy cabinets and equipment up to 75 poundsValid Driver's License and the ability to travel 75-100% of the timeOutstanding attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanshipExcellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of providing clear status updates and work documentationComfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined or elevated spacesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in retail, warehouse or large enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with NEC, TIA/EIA cabling standards and OSHA safety guidelinesExperience with fiber optic termination, network testing tools and cable certification hardwareAbility to lead or guide contractors or small teams onsiteBenefits Package Company Paid:Medical, Dental, Prescription & Vision BenefitsLife, AD&D, and LTD insurancePaid Vacation and HolidaysCompany-Matched 401K and IRA Retirement SavingTravel and Vehicle Package:Per-Diem paid when overnight travel is requiredDrive time and mileage paid for use of a personal vehicle when travel is requiredCompany vehicle provided after orientation$33 - $42 an hourAbout:Wachter is a family-owned company since 1930 and we see each employee as a critical piece of the Wachter Family.
