Assembler II (Chair Assembly)

Responsibilities Perform routine assembly tasks independently using standard work assembly drawings (SWADs). Assemble electrical and mechanical components and complete routine sub‑assemblies. Package products while maintaining quality and productivity standards. Assist with inventory movement (Water Spider) by stocking bins, pallets, cardboard, and other material handling. Build final product assemblies. Collaborate with area manufacturing engineers (MEs) to resolve assembly issues. Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, testing equipment, fixtures, and high‑voltage dielectric testing equipment in accordance with safety guidelines. Follow written and test instructions to perform tasks accurately. Interpret test results, troubleshoot and repair assemblies as necessary. Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards and ensure work poses no risk to self or others. Teach less experienced assemblers as part of the training process. Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Basic computer skills and ability to perform basic math calculations. Proficiency in reading and interpreting standard work assembly drawings (SWADs), production order paperwork, test instructions, and quality checklists. Experience troubleshooting problems and operating hand tools and fixtures. Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly processes. Education and Experience Typically requires 1–2 years of manufacturing experience. Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds repeatedly. Manual hand dexterity for operating tools and equipment. Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout a shift. Operate in environments that may involve chemicals, noise, vibration and/or dust, while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and foot protection. Background check and drug screening are required.
