Import Compliance Analyst – DHL Express, Inc. – Erlanger, KY The Import Compliance Analyst will support DHL Express USA’s import/export regulatory compliance programs. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to U.S. trade regulations, overseeing alcohol compliance, and maintaining accurate compliance metrics. Key Responsibilities Assist with oversight of the Import Un‑Authorized Release program, including daily reporting of potential failures and corrective actions before delivery. Support the U.S. alcohol compliance program by running daily reports, identifying non‑compliant shipments, and ensuring corrections prior to delivery; manage new customer approvals, state reporting, and the Alcohol compliance mailbox. Generate and maintain additional reporting for import duties such as In‑bond reporting, POA approvals, New E‑Cigarettes & Accessories, and no scan overage. Develop and deliver training on DHL and U.S. government import policies and procedures; act as a resource for operational questions. Review and update import compliance policies and procedures. Provide support to the Senior Import Compliance Manager on various assigned duties. Perform detailed research across internal IT systems, the internet, and hard copy files. Process confidential documents and information, including Power of Attorney documents and customer agreements. Enter data into DHL Express proprietary systems, manage fines and penalty documents, and submit Pink Bills to trade payable. Process government and customer mail, conduct record retention audits, and assist with metrics and research projects. Contribute to audits of business operations and evaluate audit findings. Skills & Qualifications Basic understanding of U.S. laws and regulations, including 19 CFR, and import processes. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with U.S. Government officials and external auditors. Capability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with minimal supervision. Organized, with a reliable filing system. Experience with data entry and processing confidential documents.
