Part-Time HR Coordinator

Description Schedule: Part-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM (30 hrs/week) Location: Whippany, NJ (on-site) Position Summary Preferred Business System is seeking a part-time HR Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations across our Copier and MSP/IT divisions. This role handles the administrative and compliance backbone of HR — onboarding, benefits administration, recordkeeping, and employee relations support, working closely with the COO on broader people initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manage new hire onboarding: paperwork, I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, and orientation scheduling Maintain personnel files and HRIS/payroll system records, ensuring accuracy and compliance Administer employee benefits (health, dental, vision, PTO tracking) and serve as first point of contact for employee questions Support recruiting logistics — posting openings, scheduling interviews, background checks Track and report on attendance, PTO balances, and leave requests Assist with performance review cycles and documentation Ensure compliance with NJ and federal employment law (wage/hour, leave laws, workplace posters, etc.) Help draft and update employee handbook policies as needed Provide light support on workers' comp and unemployment claims Requirements Qualifications 2+ years of HR generalist, HR coordinator, or HR admin experience Working knowledge of NJ employment law and basic HR compliance Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Office Strong discretion and confidentiality handling sensitive employee data Excellent organization and communication skills SHRM-CP or PHR a plus, not required #J-18808-Ljbffr Preferred Business Systems, Inc
