City Assessor

Position Overview The City of Williamsburg is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of City Assessor. This position is responsible for all Real Estate functions as set forth in City Code and Virginia State Code, assuring all properties be assessed at 100% fair market Value. Duties include the annual reassessment of all real property within the City, supervising the management of the database used as basis for the real property landbook and real estate tax billing procedures, and an accessible information source for all property within the locality. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Business Management, Economics or a related field; and Five (5) years of experience in appraisal principles, theories, methods and techniques.; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
